Base Pay Range:
$61,200-$72,000
The Promotions Analytics Specialist is a hands-on subject matter expert responsible for the end-to-end analytics, governance, and operationalization of promotional programs. This role owns the analytical precision behind promo design and performance measurement and leads closeout and settlement activities to ensure precise payouts, billings, and financial recognition. The Specialist partners cross-functionally with Marketing, Supplier Relations and Sales Operations to support promotional effectiveness.
As a Promotions Analytics Specialist, your essential job functions will include the following:
Promotion Close Out and Settlement
- Final Data Preparation:
Support the creation of final data files needed to close out promotions. This includes pulling basic transaction or product-level reports, organizing data into Excel, and ensuring files follow established templates.
- Claim File Review:
Assist with reviewing Excel-based claim files by checking totals, verifying eligible items, and using common Excel tools (such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and PivotTables) to validate that the promotion was applied correctly.
- Reconciliation Support:
Help compare final claims against source data (such as sales reports or redemption logs) to confirm accuracy. Flag discrepancies for review and work with the team to correct any mismatches.
- Closeout Summary Preparation:
Prepare simple summary files and notes that highlight key results from the promotion (e.g., total redemptions, differences from expected results, or items needing follow-up). Support the team in preparing payout or billing information.
- Issue Identification:
Monitor data for common issues, such as missing items, duplicate entries, or incorrect dates, and escalate anything unusual. Use basic troubleshooting steps to understand where errors may come from.
- Documentation & Approvals:
Follow established checklists and procedures for completing closeout tasks. Help gather required documentation and route files for internal review and approval.
- Troubleshooting & Accuracy Checks:
Apply basic critical thinking skills to confirm that data looks reasonable and consistent. Ask clarifying questions and doublecheck work to help ensure the final promotion results are accurate and reliable.
Reporting and Support
- Help improve processes:
Assist the team by spotting simple ways to make promotional setup and closeout steps faster or easier. Share ideas and help document changes. - Support cross-team work:
Work with Brand Managers and Promotion Operations Specialist and Sales Operations to help keep promotion processes running smoothly. Provide basic updates, pull simple reports, and share high-level insights when needed. - Assist with promotion goals:
Help create, basic promotional goals that support business growth. - Maintain and check data:
Enter, update, and review promotional data in the appropriate systems. Flag missing or incorrect information and work with IT or teammates to correct it. - Create end-of-promotion reports:
Prepare basic reports at the end of each promotion that show total claims, incremental units gained, and the overall cost of the promotion. Help summarize the results in a clear and easy-to-understand format for team review.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work with cross-functional partners:
Collaborate closely with the Promotion Operations Manager, Marketing Specialists, and Brand Managers to help close out promotions accurately and on time. Support the team by gathering needed information, updating files, and helping ensure everyone stays aligned on deadlines and deliverables. - Share ideas to improve closeout steps:
Provide suggestions on small improvements that could make the closeout process faster or easier. Help identify common bottlenecks, repetitive manual tasks, or areas where clearer documentation could help the team work more efficiently. - Explore AI-driven efficiencies:
Offer recommendations on simple ways to use AI tools, such as automated data summaries, trend detection, or generating draft reports, to improve speed and accuracy when pulling promotional metrics. Support the team in testing or adopting basic AI features that can help reduce manual work and enhance reporting quality.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing operations; prior project or program management experience preferred.
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PivotTables, and basic data cleanup.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Power Point, VBA)
- Proficient in Power BI.
- Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
