Dealer Tire Exploring Move to Victory Center

CLEVELAND, OH—November 17, 2015—Dealer Tire, located at 3711 Chester Avenue in Cleveland, is exploring a move to Victory Center at 7012 Euclid Avenue, also in Cleveland. If approved, the move is expected to be completed in the first half of 2017.

Dealer Tire supplies tires to auto dealerships nationwide and has approximately 450 employees in the Cleveland area. The company has been operating at the Chester Avenue location—formerly a tire warehouse—since its founding in 1999 by Scott and Dean Mueller and their father, Walter D. Mueller, who is still part of the business. The Mueller family formerly owned the longtime Cleveland-based Mueller Tire & Brake retail chain.

“Dealer Tire continues to innovate and expand, and we have outgrown our current offices,” said Scott Mueller, Dealer Tire partner and CEO. “Our leased space at the Chester Avenue facility has served us well, but we’ve reached the limit on how we can configure the building to accommodate our continued growth. Victory Center could work well for us because it offers the space and amenities we need with room for continued growth.”

Mueller said Dealer Tire will add approximately 100 new jobs in the Cleveland area in the next few years. Some of those new jobs will come from RightTurn.com, an innovative online tire-buying initiative for consumers that Dealer Tire recently first launched in Dallas and Cleveland and will begin rolling out nationally in 2016.

“Moving to Victory Center would keep us firmly anchored in Cleveland’s Midtown area, where my grandfather started his tire business in 1918,” noted Mueller. “The building has been home to a number of different businesses over the years, including a new car dealership, so it’s fitting that a company supplying tires to car dealerships could be in the space.

“Loyalty and fairness are core to our business,” added Mueller. “The Victory Center location would keep us loyal to Cleveland and makes it fair and easy for our employees who commute to Midtown from all over the greater Cleveland area.”

Victory Center was built in 1917 as The Arts Building and was renovated in 2013. It is LEED certified and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Mueller said that Dealer Tire’s move to Victory Center would be subject to all state and local approvals. Once approved, he said the building would undergo interior modifications, and a parking garage would be constructed.
