As Manager, Process Engineering your essential job functions will include the following:

  • Lead and develop Industrial Engineering strategies, practices and process to support solutions throughout the supply chain –improving safety, increasing effectiveness, reducing costs and driving operational excellence.
  • Manage WMS implementation and support system development and strategy to meet the needs of logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Manage overall planning & execution of distribution center moves, openings and re-engineering projects – ensure projects meet scope, timeline and budget requirements.
  • Develop engineered labor standards for distribution operations and lead auditing systems and other process initiatives.
  • Lead collaboration efforts around team strategies to increase effectiveness.
  • Investigate, plan and deliver capital projects to provide quality programs and services.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of equipment, storage and process solutions to meet existing and new product/business requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive analyses and models to fully assess distribution center operations and create programs and methods to support operational improvements to meet strategic cost, safety, training, quality and service goals.
  • Establish project plans, timeframes and deliverables according to stakeholder and organizational needs; monitor progress to ensure successful completion and lead coordination for critical projects.
  • Develop & maintain audit standards for warehouse operations and systems while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations throughout the network.
  • Collaborate with warehousing, logistics, inventory management and talent development to develop training programs required for successful operations at the warehouse level.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Program Management, Logistics, Inventory Management, & Information Technology to plan and ensure execution of initiatives that impact Warehouse processes.
  • Research best-in-class warehouse and logistics processes to determine opportunities for implementation within the warehouse network.
  • Ensure effective & efficient use of warehouse systems - JDE/Transcollector WMS, Roadnet and other systems/processes.
  • Develop, review and sustain best practices within and across each group.
  • Manage resources and vendors to support network project plans.
  • Support the specific operational and business objectives, and requirements of the Dealer Tire distribution network.

Leadership, Mentoring, & Coaching

  • Communicate expectations and strategic vision to team members.
  • Direct team members’ to support priorities within the Process Engineering team.
  • Motivate, coach, train, counsel and provide career development for each team member.
  • Monitor performance, conduct annual performance evaluation of each team member and recommend appropriate action such as compensation changes, promotions, counseling and termination.
  • Determine staffing needs, interview potential candidates, and make recommendations on individual hires.

Other Duties as Assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or similar technical field required.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, operations research, or relate analytical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with engineering process or business improvement experience along with change management required.
  • Knowledgeable in process mapping and value stream mapping preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and facilitation skills required.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal, verbal and written communication; negotiating, sourcing, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Dealer Tire’s core values – Innovation, Fairness, Accountability, and Playing to WIN.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, 5S, and LEAN is required.
  • Experience with WMS systems is required.
  • Experience developing engineered labor standards is preferred.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office products.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Travel (<50%).
