Title:                            Senior Instructional Designer

Reports To:                 Senior Manager, Associate Experience

FLSA Status:               Exempt

As a Senior Instructional Designer, your essential job functions will include:

Partner with Organization to:

  • Consult with senior business leaders to develop learning strategies that align with business needs.
  • Partner with leaders, internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to design, develop and implement medium to high complexity learning programs (i.e., complex blended curricula, individual courses and job aids).
  • Translate strategic needs into actionable learning, for senior leadership, on high impact initiatives
  • Provide learning and change management consultative services to positively impact the business and align with company goals.
  • Suggest curriculum-based recommendations, established from a requirements analysis.
  • Design and implement evaluation strategies to measure curriculum and course effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Design efficient / effective instructional programming that reflects an understanding of diverse learners and aligns with the organizations’ strategic goals. Deliverables include treatment plans, storyboards, prototypes, instructor / participant materials, feedback forms, e-learnings, infographics, executive dashboards, and Associate Experience promotional media
  • Troubleshoot course issues, with the team, and propose LMS efficiencies.

Develop and Maintain Expertise in Instructional Design

  • Remain current on learning trends and application of new technologies, while maintaining a connection with professional organizations and industry resources.
  • Collaborate with team on initial project scoping, securing resources, prioritizing projects, estimating hours, creating project plans, adding change management elements, facilitating train-the-trainer sessions, and leading project debrief sessions.
  • Proactively proofread work of self, and others, to improve quality, consistency, and readability.
  • Model quality standards behavior for the team through peer coaching in ID theory and practice.
  • Define evaluation methodology and adjust curriculum, based on evaluation outcomes, to maximize effectiveness.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Education, Communications or a related field.
  • 8+ years experience in: all aspects of instructional design, curriculum development, system implementations, graphic design, word processing, presentation creation, web development, adult learning, and meeting leadership.
  • Accelerated Learning acumen, enterprise-wide initiative plan execution, mobile learning expertise, web page development, and tire / automotive industry experience is a plus.
  • Workday Learning experience preferred.
  • Proficient in designing across multiple delivery mediums, utilizing a systematic instructional design process.
  • Able to work independently, as a member of high-performance teams, in a project driven environment.
  • Skilled in project management and analytical reporting.
  • Proficient in the use of desktop publishing, course authoring, presentation, audio editing, word processing, graphic design, web authoring, web conferencing, and spreadsheet tools, as well as web browsers, content management platforms, and learning management systems.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Continuous viewing from, and inputting data into, a computer screen.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Travel as necessary, <10%.
