As an Enterprise Production Support Analyst your essential job functions will include the following:

Broad Function and Objective

  • Works towards defined goals of Enterprise Production Support group.
  • Provide Tier-1 level support for servers, networking, databases, applications and web technologies. Triage issues when necessary. Work with Tier-2 level teams on resolutions.
  • Create or refine detailed systems documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, How-to articles and technology blogs in Dealer Tire’s knowledgebase system.
  • Manage NewRelic, Solarwinds and 247 monitoring systems – create new alerts, add new nodes to the system as necessary. Act on alerts generated by the monitoring systems.
  • Utilize monitoring and diagnostics tools to identify trends and possible problem areas in environments.
  • Perform Code Deployments - Executes deployment plans; tests deployment results; provides notification of results.
  • Perform JDE maintenance tasks: package builds, moving menus, performing security changes as well as performing routine maintenance on JDE servers.
  • Works with Compliance team and performs test and documents changes in JD Edwards.
  • Works closely with Server, Network, Applications and SQL teams on issues and environment change activities.
  • Prioritizes tasks and communicates issues and provides periodic updates.
  • Ensures Change Management processes are adhered to for all environment changes.
  • Acquires and stays current with detailed understanding of the structure, operation and deployment plans for the Dealer Tire suite of software applications; supports the setup, analysis, deployment, maintenance and upgrades per the plan.
  • Respond to user requests from ticketing systems.

Principal Accountabilities (not limited to)

  • Works in a proactive way by proposing changes that make systems more efficient and/or reduce operations or maintenance costs.
  • Responds to user requests, monitors production job processing, monitors and reacts to all network and system(s) alerts such as outages, issues, errors and takes appropriate actions to resolve.
  • Performs tasks associated with operation of midrange systems, server systems, network and peripheral equipment throughout the environment.
  • Assists with the creation and refinement of existing documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Provides change management support for pushing code changes into various environments including production, development Q&A and DR.
  • Identify opportunities for processes and procedural improvements.
  • Analyzes data to proactively identify simple performance abnormalities.
  • Works with other team members with turnover for incoming shift and/or other support.
  • Participate in disaster recovery exercises as directed.
  • Provides Help Desk support during non-standard business work hours and creates trouble tickets as necessary.

  • Timely and successful identification and escalation of potential application or system problems.
  • Effective incident analysis resulting in the collection of key information for problem resolution.
  • Adherence to and improvement of procedures, SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Demonstrate clear and accurate communication.
  • Accurate and consistent execution of changes performed within the confines of Dealer Tire’s IT Change Management structure.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline preferred; In lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience may be accepted.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency with standard business tools such as the Microsoft Office applications suite and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of web application technologies, how they connect and their purpose in an organization.
  • Strong familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools (New Relic, Orion) administration.
  • Understanding of networking technologies (firewalls, routers, switches) and how those devices are connected to provide service.
  • Understanding of container technologies.
  • Technical writing skills – ability to capture processes and develop quality documentation and knowledgebase articles.
  • Understanding of ERP systems (JD Edwards) and its processes – perform package builds and deployments.
  • System Deployment Life Cycle (SDLC) – basic understanding of web development methodologies. Ability to efficiently deploy code to environments.
  • Understanding of enterprise job scheduling systems (Help Systems Robot) – ability to manage jobs and troubleshoot issues.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills – efficiently determine a root cause of an issue and appropriately act on it. Ability to extract relevant information from log files or monitoring systems in use.
  • Experience with SQL a plus.
