As a Senior Accountant, your essential job functions will include the following:

  • Support the financial close process on a monthly basis to assure the timely, accurate preparation of financial statements consistent with U.S GAAP and all Company policies & procedures.  Participate in management meetings to review financial results.
  • Complete in an accurate and timely manner all assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.  Research and resolve reporting issues for assigned accounts.  Provide meaningful analysis of trends and variances on results and balance sheets accounts.
  • Develop proficiency using Oracle Business Intelligence to create ad hoc analysis.   
  • Provide support for the annual external audit, by providing work papers and supporting schedules to external auditors and responding to ad hoc requests during the audit. 
  • Lead or participate on cross functional project teams where independent thought and work-product is required.
  • Frequently manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Lead and/or participate on annual physical inventories

General Accounting

  • Prepare accrual schedules and analysis for Vendor Rebates and collaborate with Supplier Relations to understand all Vendor Rebate programs.
  • Prepare analysis for the Inventory Excess & Obsolescence Reserve. Collaborate with Inventory Management to understand necessary reserve adjustments and communicate the results to management.
  • Prepare Gross Profit reports on a monthly basis.  Collaborate with Reporting & Analysis to reconcile gross profit reports monthly and assist in communicating gross profit analysis to management  
  • Assist with consolidations, inter-company transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency monetary valuations, and foreign currency financial statement translation.

OR

Accounting Operations

  • Collaborate with OEM’s, Dealers, Program Management, Accounting, and IT teams to implement OEM contracts and account for program elements.  Provide guidance and analytical support as requested during contract negotiations.  Understand and implement necessary accounting to support new program elements. Accurately communicate contract changes to those impacted.
  • Understand OEM incentive programs and calculate and accurately record the incentives monthly.  Ensure that incentive payments to OEMs are made timely.  Provide timely and accurate reporting of the incentive achievement and marketing funds to key business owners.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Operations team to complete monthly AR Roll forward, revenue testing, shipping cutoff, A/R Aging, A/P and RNV Aging, and account reconciliations.
  • Work with the Accounts Payable team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of vendor payments and other A/P transactions.  Participate in month, quarter and year end closing of Accounts Payable.

Initiate and Implement Process Improvements

  • Develop and maintain complete documentation of general accounting processes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices to streamline current accounting processes as well as to support future business opportunities.
  • Review and test internal controls, as needed, to ensure SOX compliance.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of related accounting experience required, with prior public accounting experience preferred.
  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Financial Statement Consolidation with foreign entities and multi-currency restatement and translation.
  • Experience using JDEdwards or another major ERP system.
  • Experience using OBIEE or other business intelligence tool.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in a rapidly changing, high performance environment based on a team oriented culture.
  • Ability to meet quality and time commitments, under pressure, with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Understanding of transactional flow of accounting data including inventory, order to cash, and procure to pay.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Travel as necessary (<10%).
